About Us

Our Mission & Vision

We exist to provide support and resources to the foster community in South Louisiana.

Our mission is to encourage and support foster and adoptive families; to empower and support children, youth and families affected by trauma; and to educate the community on the needs of the foster system.

How We Help

Our programs are designed to fulfill our mission in serving the various caregivers of the children in the foster care system. By supporting the families and individuals who have chosen to serve children in need of care, we are helping to reduce the burden and stress, increase retention and simultaneously create a better experience for children in foster care.

Community Closet

We accept donations of new and gently used clothes, shoes, and baby equipment, as well as donations of diapers, wipes, and unopened formula which are distributed to foster families in South Louisiana. We assist in finding beds and dressers for foster families who take in a child, and for biological families working toward reunification.

Our Community Closet is located at 113 Jared Drive, Broussard, LA 70518. For current hours of operation, including donation and shopping times, visit our calendar.

To schedule an appointment outside of our regular hours please call 337-205-2155.

First Nights

Children often enter foster care with few or no personal items and many foster parents are given limited time to prepare for the arrival of a child placed in their home. The first nights can be hectic and stressful for children and foster families. Our intention is to make this transition easier for all. Our First Nights Program is designed to help meet the basic needs of a child during their first nights in care as well as support foster families when accepting new placements.

First Nights Bags are reusable, overnight bags that are filled with clothing and hygiene essentials and are given to children as they enter care.

First Nights Meals supports foster families by providing meals and restaurant gift cards to help with the transition.

If you are interested in donating items for First Nights Bags please download our First Nights Bags List below. You can also contact us to see what ages and genders we currently need.
